The Issues We're Fighting For
WE FIGHT FOR:
Abortion Access
In 23 states, abortion care is either illegal or severely restricted. We must protect New Mexicans' right to access safe, legal abortion care.
Birth Control
All people deserve access to the full range of birth control methods.
Health Care Equity
Everyone should have access to stigma-free, high-quality reproductive & sexual health care — regardless of gender, zip code, income level, or documentation.
Gender-affirming Health Care
Our trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming siblings deserve access to health care that is affirming, compassionate, and judgement-free — including hormonal therapy.
Sex Education
Only 37% of U.S. states require that sex ed in schools be medically accurate. Students in New Mexico deserve access to sex education programs that provide reliable and accurate information.
Survivors of Sexual Assault
To help end sexual assault in our communities, survivors need policies that support them.
Planned Parenthood
For years, backward politicians across the country have attacked Planned Parenthood patients' access to care. Most recently, through "defund" initiatives via Medicaid reimbursements. New Mexicans should be able to decide for themselves where they want to receive health care — including at Planned Parenthood health centers.
About Us
Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico (PPVNM) works to protect and expand access to reproductive health care and inclusive, culturally relevant, medically accurate sex education. We advocate for comprehensive state policies and help to elect legislators who will be champions for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and the services it provides.
Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains was founded over 100 years ago on the revolutionary idea that people have the right to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health. Today, Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico fights to protect that right — often in the face of extreme politicians trying to take it away.
