Planned Parenthood Votes New Mexico (PPVNM) believes that all individuals have the right to nondiscriminatory access to a full range of reproductive health care services, and that no individual should be denied those services because of age or economic status. As part of this, PPVNM works with government entities to provide women in New Mexico access to reproductive health care services. The Medicaid program covers contraceptives, counseling services and patient education, infertility services and sterilization reversals, cancer screenings, and testing for sexually transmitted infections related to family planning services. In accordance with the Hyde Amendment and New Mexico law, these federal funds do not pay for abortion services.
