Politicians in these 12 states have already banned abortions after 20 weeks:

  1. Alabama
  2. Arkansas
  3. Indiana
  4. Kansas
  5. Louisiana
  6. Mississippi
  7. North Carolina
  8. North Dakota (has a 6-week ban on the books already, although it is not in effect.)
  9. Nebraska
  10. Oklahoma
  11. Texas
  12. West Virginia

20-week abortion bans are being challenged in the courts of these states:

  1. Georgia

These states are currently considering 20-week abortion bans:

  1. Ohio
  2. Oregon
  3. South Carolina
  4. Wisconsin

The 20-week bans advancing in states across the country come on top of the more than 335 provisions aimed at restricting access to abortion that were introduced in state legislatures in 2014.

That means more than half (57%) of women of reproductive age are now living in a state that is either hostile or very hostile to abortion rights, according to the Guttmacher Institute.

So what's next?

If anti-women's health politicians have their way, they would outlaw abortion entirely. But women are fighting back. We are calling on politicians to stand by women's health and rights.
