Congress is a mess. But the one thing they've managed to do without fail — year after year, for nearly 40 years — is ban federal programs from providing health insurance coverage for abortion through the so-called Hyde Amendment and other similar restrictions.

This year, things could finally change. A group of more than 60 women’s health champions in Congress just introduced a bill that would end restrictions on abortion coverage in public and private health care programs once and for all. It’s a huge step in the right direction, and we need your help to build the momentum right now.

Take Action

Tell your representative to co-sponsor the EACH Woman Act so that every woman can fully access the services she needs, no matter her income or source of health insurance.

You may be thinking, “Yeah, right — my representative would never co-sponsor this bill.” But that’s even more reason to send a letter. We need both our champions and enemies to know just how many people support this effort because they’re surely hearing about it from the other side.

Congress is brimming with politicians who have extreme agendas — politicians who will stop at nothing in their attempts to block women from accessing safe, legal abortion. So far this year we’ve kept anti-abortion language out of legislation as wildly unrelated to women’s health as an education bill. But anti-women's health politicians are still trying to sneak restrictions through in a bill about medical research.

Now we’re going on the offensive. We’re putting forward the world WE want, not just beating back attempt after attempt by politicians to restrict access to abortion by putting themselves in the middle of women’s most personal health care decisions.

For 40 years, the majority of Americans have been saying that abortion should be safe and legal. That means it should be safe and legal for everyone — not only for those who can afford it. Today, we start the fight to win back the rights we earned and make sure each women gets the health care she needs — regardless of where she lives, how much money she makes, or the insurance coverage she has.

Join us in showing Congress that we won’t accept penalties on low-income women seeking safe, legal abortion. Let’s stop politicians from interfering with a woman’s decisions about abortion — once and for all.
