The Trump Administration just released devastating anti-woman guidelines expanding the global gag rule.

The expanded global gag rule targets international organizations that work on U.S.-funded health projects like HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, maternal and child health, and Zika programs. These groups will be banned from all global health funding from the U.S. government if they also happen to provide counseling, referrals, services, or advocate for safe and legal abortion — even with their own funding.

By cutting off access to the best family planning providers, the rule is sure to be devastating for the world’s most vulnerable women.

It denies women and girls lifesaving health care. And it is sure to mean more tragic deaths from unsafe abortions and pregnancy complications.

Here’s How to Fight Back

The United States is supposed to support freedom, equality, and justice — not ideologically charged health policies that do immeasurable harm to women.

Tell your member of Congress you will not stand for the Trump guidelines and you reject any effort to make the global gag rule permanent.  The U.S. should fight to stop the needless deaths of vulnerable women across the globe — not perpetuate them. You can also urge your member of Congress to support the Global HER (Health, Empowerment, and Rights) Act, ending the gag rule for good.
