Last summer, President Trump and his backers in Congress "defunded" Planned Parenthood by passing a law that aims to block people with Medicaid from using their insurance to get care at Planned Parenthood health centers. Now, Congressional Republicans want to make this permanent.

We’ve already seen the irreparable harm caused since President Trump and his backers passed a law to “defund” Planned Parenthood for one year: 23 Planned Parenthood health centers have been forced to permanently close. Patients most in need of affordable care are facing an impossible choice — scramble to pay for essential care like cancer screenings and STI testing; navigate a crumbling, chaotic health care system to find another provider; or go without care entirely. 

Health care, gas prices, and groceries are already too expensive. We need leaders to make these things easier to get — not harder and more expensive.

What you can do: Call your member of Congress and tell them to stop the attacks on Planned Parenthood health centers — and oppose any legislation that attempts to “defund” Planned Parenthood. With so much on the line, they need to hear how important Planned Parenthood is to the people they represent.
