Justice Kavanaugh repeatedly demonstrated through his rulings, words and actions that he does not respect the bodily autonomy and rights of women. Brett Kavanaugh’s judicial record, speeches, Senate Judiciary Committee testimony, and even his emails all lead to the conclusion that he would gut Roe v. Wade and undermine access to safe, legal abortion if given the chance.

Kavanaugh was nominated by Trump, who campaigned on the promise of overturning Roe v. Wade. While on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, Kavanaugh ruled against a woman’s constitutional right to abortion — and his questioning of the legitimacy of the Affordable Care Act demonstrated that he poses a substantial risk to the landmark protections granted by this law.

Kavanaugh was confirmed despite compelling sworn testimony of sexual assault allegations brought by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, and an FBI investigation widely disparaged as perfunctory. For these reasons, Planned Parenthood scored the procedural vote and also opposed the final confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh.
