NEW YORK, NY — Today, Lenny Letter and millennial news brand NowThis, released a star-studded video featuring popular artists urging everyone who cares about women’s health and access to affordable, quality care to speak out and contact their senators to protect Planned Parenthood.

Watch the video, which will be widely shared on social media, here. Individuals can go to https://www.istandwithpp.org/call/senate to contact their Senators.

The video is a mash-up of more than 25 celebrity actors, comedians, media personalities and activists who stand with Planned Parenthood: Aidy Bryant, Alison Brie, Amy Poehler, Andrew Rannells, Aubrey Plaza, Brie Larson, Constance Wu, Elisabeth Moss, Gloria Steinem, Grace Gummer, Jack Antonoff, Jackie Cruz, Janet Mock, Jennifer Lawrence, Jenny Slate, Jon Hamm, Judd Apatow, Kate Walsh, Lena Dunham, Padma Lakshmi, Phoebe Robinson, Retta, Riz Ahmed, Spike Jonze, Suki Waterhouse, Zoe Kazan, and Zoe Lister-Jones.

The recently released Senate version of Trumpcare includes a provision that bars individuals from going to Planned Parenthood for preventive care. If enacted, it would have a devastating impact on the 2.4 million people who rely on Planned Parenthood health centers for essential health services.

A recent Quinnipiac poll shows that 80% of voters support Planned Parenthood and oppose efforts to block people from getting care at Planned Parenthood.

"We are so grateful to have the support of so many artists, many of whom have themselves relied on Planned Parenthood for health care, and who understand the importance of speaking out,” said Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. “This support is especially important right now as the Senate is jamming through a bill that would that would block millions of women from getting birth control and cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood. Now is the time to speak out.  One in five women in this country rely on Planned Parenthood for care. They will not stay silent as politicians vote to take away their care and their rights.”

At Planned Parenthood, we work every day to make sure people receive the high quality health care they need in a safe, compassionate environment –including abortion – and trust every patient to make their own, fully informed sexual and reproductive health care decisions. The patients who come to Planned Parenthood don’t do so to make a political statement; they do it because they need the expert health care and information we provide. Last year, Planned Parenthood celebrated 100 years, and we, alongside our millions of supporters, will fight to protect reproductive health and rights in this country.
