Washington D.C. – Planned Parenthood Action Fund President Cecile Richards today issued the below statement following Senator Bernie Sanders's (D-VT) endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president:

“Senator Sanders ran a passionate campaign that helped shape important conversations around the country – full of real issues that matter to Americans from all backgrounds. Today’s endorsement unites us all around a top priority this coming November: to ensure that we stop Donald Trump, who is unfit to be president and a threat to women, and continue the fight for a more equitable America.

“Never before has a major political party nominated a woman for president – nor someone more qualified than Hillary Clinton. Hillary is a progressive fighter committed to strengthening health care and reproductive rights, and standing up for women, children and families around the country to advance our shared progressive ideals.
