Washington, DC — Today Donald Trump continued to make ill-informed comments about women’s health, telling Chuck Todd on NBC’s Meet the Press that he believes Planned Parenthood should stop offering abortion services, period.

Statement from Eric Ferrero, Vice President of Communications for Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

“Donald Trump's remarks this morning are ill-informed and troubling. Planned Parenthood will always provide abortion as part of the full range of high-quality reproductive health care.Three in ten women in America has an abortion by the age of 45, and the vast majority of the American public wants abortion to remain legal. Planned Parenthood ensures that women across the country have access to safe abortion services.

“This morning Donald Trump endorsed banning abortion and defunding Planned Parenthood, positions that would hurt millions of women and are far outside the mainstream. Trump repeatedly refused to say whether he opposes shutting down the government over funding for Planned Parenthood's preventive health care services, which would be a reckless, extreme attack on women's health that would also harm millions of veterans, seniors, and others who rely on basic government services.”
