Second Time’s the Charm! Ex-Candidate Latches on to Senator Peddling Same Lies that Sunk Her Own Campaign

Washington, DC --- Today, failed presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, best known for her blatant disregard of both fact checkers and the truth, announced she was endorsing Ted Cruz for president.

Quote from Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

“Like a moth to the flame, Carly Fiorina continues to gravitate toward the biggest liar in the room. Fiorina spent her whole campaign lying about Planned Parenthood, embarrassingly ignoring fact checker after fact checker, and leading to a candidacy-killing drop in the polls. It’s no surprise she endorsed Ted Cruz. Together, they have created an echo chamber of lies that very seriously threatens the health and wellbeing of women in this country.”

For more about Carly Fiorina’s lies about Planned Parenthood, read our farewell to Fiorina here:

Fact: Carly Fiorina lied about a video that does not exist –– and was called out by everyone.

Immediately after Carly Fiorina made false claims about Planned Parenthood during the second GOP debate, fact-checkers called her out for her lies.

Watch her claims debunked here

  • VICE: “Of all last night's attacks on Planned Parenthood, Fiorina's was the most extreme and by far the most egregiously untrue...As several analysts who, in fact, watched the videos have pointed out, this particularly gruesome scene never occurred.”
  • MSNBC: “The fact-checkers examined Fiorina’s claim and concluded that it’s the opposite of reality.”
  • Washington Post:Fiorina describes images on a Planned Parenthood video that do not exist...Fiorina might have trouble finding this video to show to Clinton. No such video has surfaced, certainly with no scenes inside a Planned Parenthood facility.”

Fact: Carly Fiorina’s lies cost her in the polls.

Fact: Fiorina refused to accept her drop in the polls had anything to do with her lies

Fiorina resorted to literally making things up to make her point about Planned Parenthood.  Every fact-checker agreed that she lied about Planned Parenthood, yet she continued to wronglyfocus her campaign on these blatant untruths. She refused to accept that this had to do with her drop in the polls.

Fact: She dropped so far in the polls that she was bounced from main stage

Carly Fiorina did not qualify for the primetime GOP debate in January because her polls numbers had plummeted so low.  Her uncanny habit of blatantly lying to the American people caught up to her. She doubled down on attacking Planned Parenthood, hoping that her crusade would define her candidacy. And it did -- by cementing her as a liar.  Her fall should serve as a lesson to other candidates -- lying about Planned Parenthood to advance an extreme anti-abortion agenda is a losing strategy.
