Six-Figure GOTV Campaign Has Targeted Over 85,000 People

Atlanta, Georgia - Planned Parenthood Action Fund has launched a five-figure GOTV digital ad buy in support of Jon Ossoff in the April 18th Special Election for Georgia's 6th Congressional District. The digital ads round out a six-figure investment in the race, complementing a ground effort which has reached over 15,000  people in door to door canvasses and over 70,000 people in a mail campaign. The geo targeted GOTV digital ads will run through election day, April 18.

The banner and video ads lift up Jon Ossoff strong record on protecting women’s health and rights and how he would be a champion for women in Washington D.C.. Politicians in DC are mounting the biggest attack on women’s health in a generation, and blocking access to care at Planned Parenthood health centers is their top priority.  Week after week, politicians in DC are pushing to eliminate women’s programs and “defund” Planned Parenthood.  What is at stake is the basic right of women to access health care without interference from politicians.

Quote from Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President, Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

Now more than ever it is critical that we have reproductive health care champions, like Jon Ossoff, Washington D.C.  Women marched in historic numbers the day after the inauguration because they feared the worst. Now they will march to the polls to elect lawmakers who will make protecting women’s programs and access to health care a top priority.

Candace Fowler, Board Chair, Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates:

Jon Ossoff is the only candidate we trust to fight attacks on access to care at Planned Parenthood health centers, which thousands of Georgia women rely on for birth control, STD testing and treatment, and cancer screenings. Georgians know speaking up and speaking out can change the direction of this government. That’s why we are are going door to door, neighbor to neighbor, to send women’s health champion Jon Ossoff to Washington D.C.

More on Jon Ossoff:

  • "I will be an unyielding defender of Planned Parenthood. If I am elected to Congress, and of choice, and of Roe v. Wade." [Flippable, Facebook, 3/21/17]

  • "It is not the role of the federal government and the politicians in Washington to make those decisions for women and families. It is an intensely personal and moral choice." [Facebook, 3/21/17]
