“Americans deserve answers, not dodges”

Washington, DC — During yesterday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Brett Kavanaugh was given at least 12 opportunities to give a straight answer on Roe v. Wade and he failed every time. Brett Kavanaugh dodged, ducked, and danced — all to avoid answering whether he believes Roe v. Wade was rightly decided, or if there is a constitutional right to have an abortion.

new video from Planned Parenthood Action Fund shows how Kavanaugh dodged several of these questions from Senators yesterday at his hearing. In light of the newly leaked emailsthat reveal Kavanaugh’s precarious views on the landmark Supreme Court cases Roe v. Wadeand Planned Parenthood v. Casey, Kavanaugh needs to give clear answers on Roe, the constitutional right to abortion, and access to health care for Americans with pre-existing conditions.

Statement from Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

Brett Kavanaugh has gone to great lengths to avoid giving clear answers on whether or not he believes Roe v. Wade was decided correctly and if he will protect access to health care for Americans with pre-existing conditions or not. Unless Brett Kavanaugh affirmatively declares that the Constitution protects individual liberty and the rights of all people to make personal decisions about their bodies and personal relationships, the Senate should not confirm him.
