WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Planned Parenthood Action Fund endorsed candidate State Senator Jennifer McClellan won the Democratic primary, winning the nomination in the special election for Virginia’s 4th Congressional District. Planned Parenthood Action Fund President Alexis McGill Johnson released the following statement in celebration:

“This is another victory for abortion rights. Planned Parenthood Action Fund was so proud to endorse Jennifer McClellan for Congress. Jennifer has dedicated her life to service and has long been a champion for sexual and reproductive health care. When Jennifer wins the special election in February, not only will she be the first Black woman to represent Virginia in Congress but she will strengthen the voice of reproductive rights champions. Voters continue to make their wishes clear to our elected officials: protect reproductive freedom. Onward to February!”
