Planned Parenthood Action Fund congratulates Representative Mazie Hirono for winning yesterday’s Hawaii Democratic primary in the Senate race.  The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

“We could not be more proud to congratulate our endorsed candidate Mazie Hirono for winning her primary yesterday,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund.  “In light of the current attacks on women’s health, now is a critical time to send champions like Mazie to the Senate.  When she’s elected, we know Mazie will continue her long record of fighting for women’s access to quality health care.”

During her time in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Mazie Hirono has worked tirelessly to improve access to quality reproductive health care, earning a 100 percent score from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

We look forward to calling Mazie Hirono Hawaii’s first female Senator,” said Amy Monk, co-chair of the Planned Parenthood Hawaii Action Network Board.  “Congresswoman Hirono is an outspoken leader for the women and families of Hawaii, and she will be an exceptional addition to the U.S. Senate.”
