“Unlike his opponent, Alan Cohn understands that health care decisions should be left between a woman and her doctor.”

WASHINGTON, DC -- Planned Parenthood Action Fund today announced the endorsement of Alan Cohn in his bid for the U.S. House of Representatives (FL-15) against two-term anti-women’s health incumbent Representative Dennis Ross. The Action Fund is the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

“Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to endorse Alan Cohn in his bid for the U.S. House of Representatives,” said Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. “Unlike his opponent, Alan Cohn understands that health care decisions should be left between a woman and her doctor, without political or government interference. If elected to Congress, he will be a critical ally for women’s health and rights and the services that Planned Parenthood health centers provide to one in five women in her lifetime.”

Rep. Ross has a 0% on the Planned Parenthood Action Fund congressional scorecard for votes he has taken in Congress to restrict access to preventive care including cancer screening and birth control, and access to safe and legal abortion.

“We are proud to stand with Planned Parenthood Action Fund in its endorsement of Alan Cohn for Congress,” said Stephanie Marshall, Board Member, Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates. “Florida women and families can count of Alan Cohn to stand up for them at home and in Washington. Now more than ever, we need leaders that will stand up against the wave of attacks that are being waged on preventive care, birth control, and safe and legal abortion. Alan will work to ensure a woman’s ability to access health care does not depend on where she lives or where she works.”
