Planned Parenthood Action Fund announces its endorsement of Chris Murphy for Senate in Connecticut today.  The Action Fund is the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

“We are proud to endorse Chris Murphy in his bid for Senate,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund.  “Since his time in the General Assembly, Connecticut families have relied on Murphy’s leadership in advocating for women’s health care.  Especially in recent months as opponents have ramped up their attacks, Murphy has been a stalwart defender of women’s health, working to defeat several dangerous amendments and bills in the House.  Chris Murphy will continue to be a strong champion for access to affordable reproductive and preventive health care in the U.S. Senate.”

Congressman Chris Murphy (CT-05) has a long record of fighting for increased access to health care for the women and families of Connecticut.  His hard work has earned him a 100 percent score from Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

“Connecticut women and families can count on Chris Murphy to fight for them in Washington,” said Judy Tabar, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Votes! Connecticut.  “We are thrilled that the Action Fund has endorsed his candidacy.  We know Chris Murphy will continue to put the basic health care needs of Connecticut women ahead of ideology and politics as our senator.”
