The Planned Parenthood Action Fund announces its endorsement of Julia Brownley (CA-26), Pete Aguilar (CA-31), Dr. Raul Ruiz (CA-36), and Mark Takano (CA-41).  The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

“We are proud to endorse Julia Brownley, Pete Aguilar, Raul Ruiz, and Mark Takano in their races for Congress today,” said Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.  “The race to the bottom on women’s health issues over the last few months has shown, yet again, how crucial it is to send advocates for women’s health to the U.S. House of Representatives.  Julia, Pete, Raul, and Mark are exceptional candidates who will fight to protect and promote women’s health. And that’s exactly who Californians, and all Americans, need representing them in Washington.”

“The women of Ventura County deserve a strong supporter of women and families.  With all of the attacks on women’s health, it’s time to elect a representative who will stand with women,” said Cheryl Rollings, president/CEO of Planned Parenthood Action Fund of Santa Barbara, Ventura & San Luis Obispo Counties, Inc. “We are very proud that the Action Fund has endorsed Julia Brownley to represent California’s 26thCongressional District.”

“Pete Aguilar is an outstanding candidate and champion for women’s health. We are excited that the Action Fund has endorsed him for California’s 31st Congressional District,” saidLiz McNabb, president of the Community Action Fund of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties.  “Congressman Gary Miller has proved time and time again that when it comes to women’s health care needs, he’s completely out of touch.”

“Dr. Raul Ruiz has long been serving the women and families in his community as a physician and advocate for public health, said Darrah DiGiorgio Johnson, president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest.  “He will be a real asset in the U.S. House of Representatives from California’s 36th District.”

“Mark Takano is a strong supporter of women’s reproductive rights,” said DiGiorgio. “While his opponent, John Tavaglione, is ready to turn back the clock on women’s health, Mark will stand strong for women’s health in the 41st Congressional District. We’re very proud the Action Fund has endorsed him.”
