Planned Parenthood Action Fund announced its endorsement of Kate Marshall in Nevada’s Second Congressional District race.  The Action Fund is the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

“Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to support Kate Marshall for Congress,” said Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.  “The work she has done to help women and families in Nevada during her time as state treasurer underscores her passionate advocacy, which is exactly what Nevada needs.”

As state treasurer, Marshall has already made great strides in supporting women and families in Nevada.  From improving funding for public education to saving taxpayer dollars, Marshall enacted reforms that improved communities across her state.  As the next United States representative from Nevada, Kate Marshall will continue to be a strong voice and advocate for the health and welfare of Nevada’s women and families.

“Northern Nevadans have been without a voice in Congress for too long,” said Elisa Cafferata, CEO of Nevada Advocates Planned Parenthood Affiliates.  “We can count on Kate to take the lead on the issues that are critical to Nevada families: preventive health care and access to family planning.  Kate Marshall will be a wonderful and effective advocate for Nevada women and families in Congress.”

The contrast in Nevada’s Second Congressional District could not be more distinct.  While Kate Marshall is a dedicated leader who has always been a champion for Nevada women and families, her opponent, Mark Amodei, former chair of the Nevada Republican Party, has vowed to vote to overturn the new health care law.  The women of Nevada deserve better – they deserve Kate Marshall.
