BOSTON —Planned Parenthood Action Fund announced its endorsement today of Massachusetts State Senator Katherine Clark for U.S. House of Representatives. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

“Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to endorse Katherine Clark for U.S. Representative from the Fifth Congressional District,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. “Throughout her career, Katherine Clark has been a steadfast champion for women and for access to health care. It’s clearer than ever that we need allies like Katherine Clark in Washington who will stand up against the narrow group of far-right politicians who would rather shut down the federal government than expand access to health care for women.”

“We proudly stand with Planned Parenthood Action Fund in support of Katherine Clark, who has been unwavering in her support for women’s health and comprehensive sexuality education in Massachusetts,” said Martha “Marty” Walz, president of the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts. “As State Senator, Katherine Clark is the lead Senate sponsor of our comprehensive sexuality education legislation, An Act Relative to Healthy Youth, and is a key voice against bills designed to restrict access to women’s health care. Katherine Clark understands that politicians should not meddle in a woman’s personal health care decisions. The women and men of Massachusetts’ Fifth Congressional District can trust Katherine Clark.”

Katherine Clark earned the endorsement of the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts for Massachusetts Senate in 2010 and 2012. She has been lead sponsor of An Act Relative to Healthy Youth, which would ensure that when Massachusetts school districts teach sexuality education it is comprehensive and medically-accurate, since it was introduced in 2011.
