Elevates that reproductive freedom is only achieved by working

“to dismantle unjust systems of oppression”

Philadelphia, PA –  Tonight, Angela Ferrell-Zabala, Director of Strategic Partnerships for Planned Parenthood Action Fund, released the following statement on the Mothers of the Movement convention speech.

"Tonight will mark a historic moment for the Democratic National Convention. Center stage will be the Mothers of the Movement – women who have tragically lost their children to gun violence or excessive force. The courage of these women to continue to fight against the systemic oppression that takes the lives of too many in Black communities is admirable. Reproductive justice means that every parent should have the right to raise their child in a community free from violence. Planned Parenthood Action Fund stands in solidarity with the work of reproductive justice leaders and the broader social justice movement to dismantle unjust systems of oppression. The fight for reproductive freedom for all people requires us to do this work. We are in awe of their courage and agree we must work together to build safer communities."
