WASHINGTON, DC — Planned Parenthood Action Fund today welcomed Lincoln Chafee to the 2016 presidential field. The Action Fund is the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
Statement from Planned Parenthood Action Fund:
“Throughout his career, Lincoln Chafee has been a supporter of women making their own personal medical decisions, a view shared by the majority of Americans. As governor of Rhode Island, Chafee stood up for women’s health and rights, vetoing legislation that would violate the separation of church and state by funding an organization that works to limit a woman’s right to safe and legal abortion.
“Chafee’s belief that politicians should not interfere with a woman’s personal health care decisions is in stark contrast to the numerous GOP presidential contenders so far who are in a race to the bottom on women’s health. We welcome Chafee as another champion for women’s health to the presidential field.”
