Washington, DC --  Planned Parenthood Action Fund Executive Vice President, Dawn Laguens, released the following statement condemning President-elect Donald Trump’s appointment of Steve Bannon.

Statement from Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

“Steve Bannon has perpetuated a terrifying agenda of racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, sexism, and anti-LGBT attacks. Steve Bannon has received a stamp of approval from the KKK. Steve Bannon has made horrifying comments about Planned Parenthood and abortion providers. Through these comments, he has not only targeted specific groups of people, many of whom are Planned Parenthood patients, but he is attacking the values that are fundamental to Planned Parenthood -- freedom, autonomy, and opportunity to achieve their life’s goals.

“Trump has now promised to be a president for all Americans. That means protecting all Americans – especially people of color and religious minorities – from discrimination and harassment. It means protecting women's rights the same as everyone else's rights. It means pursuing policies as President of the United States that are the exact opposite of what Steve Bannon has pushed.”
