Dozens gather in Iowa City to Call out Fiorina for her continued smear campaign against Planned Parenthood

See photos below

Iowa City, IA — Today, Planned Parenthood patients and supporters gathered to confront Carly Fiorina about her patently false statements regarding an already heavily manipulated video intended to attack Planned Parenthood

As Fiorina was campaigning at a University of Iowa tailgate, dozens of Planned Parenthood patients and supporters adorned in pink and cheerleading uniforms were on hand to cheer and to make it clear to all in attendance that Fiorina lied, and that her lie is dangerous for women’s access to preventative health care.

As one Planned Parenthood patient remarked: "As a Planned Parenthood patient I'm disturbed by Carly Fiorinas lies.  Her lies are dangerous for me and all of the women who come to PlannedParenthood seeking women's health services. The facts about PlannedParenthood are that they've provided me with compassionate care and they'll continue to do so for the 2.7 million women across the country. Today's rally is a show of support for all of the people who Stand With Planned Parenthood and the countless lives they save."

Many more people attended to help provide a voice for the millions of men and women that would be impacted if Congress were to defund Planned Parenthood, as Fiorina demands.

Fiorina is so extreme on women’s health that she has resorted to making things up to advance her dangerous agenda to defund Planned Parenthood, and block millions of patients from basic, preventive reproductive health care — even if it means shutting down the government to do so.

"It is unacceptable that Carly Fiorina flat-out lied about Planned Parenthood in the Republican debate and we aren't going to let her get away with it.  We're here today to demand some answers and to show Ms. Fiorina what Planned Parenthood is really about: providing nearly 38,000 women, men and young people in Iowa with high-quality, compassionate reproductive and family planning care. No matter what," said Suzanna De Baca, President of Planned Parenthood Voters of Iowa.

The facts about Planned Parenthood are that In Iowa they helped serve over 37,000 patients at 13 health centers in 2013.

Nationally, Planned Parenthood provides 2.7 million women and men a year with critical reproductive health care --- such as cancer screenings, birth control, STI testing and treatment and well-woman exams. More than half of Planned Parenthood health centers are in rural or medically underserved areas, meaning that without Planned Parenthood, many patients would literally have nowhere else to turn.
