Washington D.C. - Planned Parenthood issued the following statement in response to new allegations of sexual assault by Brett Kavanaugh. To date, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, and Julie Swetnick have submitted testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee alleging that Brett Kavanaugh participated in sexual assault.

Quote from Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President, Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

Proceeding with this nomination is telling sexual assault survivors they don't matter. These serious allegations are horrifying. There is only one path forward: Brett Kavanaugh must withdraw. Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, and Julie Swetnick have put forth multiple serious accusations and it would be a disgrace to ignore them. The rush to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court of the United States is irresponsible and dangerous. It sends a message to survivors that politics are more important than their voices. This is not about partisan politics—all responsible Senators must stop this process.
