Quote from Dawn Laguens, Vice President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

“It is appalling that in their first week back in session the top priority for Republican leaders in the House is rolling back women's access to preventive health care. This will be the 20th vote in the 114th Congress to cut women's access to reproductive health care. This bill would threaten millions of women's access to care by preventing patients from accessing care at Planned Parenthood health centers and repealing essential aspects of the Affordable Care Act. This is not what the overwhelming majority of the public wants Congress to spend its time doing.

"Republican leaders in Congress are lying about Planned Parenthood to justify their long-running obsession with banning abortion in this country.

"Seventy-five percent of Planned Parenthood's patients are low-income and often have nowhere else to go for care. They come to Planned Parenthood for services that can and do save lives --- like cancer screenings, birth control, STI testing and treatment, and a range of other preventive services. We will never stop fighting for women to have access to high-quality, compassionate health care."

The budget reconciliation vote in the House will be the first attempt of the year to cut access to care at Planned Parenthood. Last year, Congress voted 19 times to attack reproductive health care including 7 previous votes to cut Planned Parenthood funding and 5 Congressional committees spending taxpayer money to investigate Planned Parenthood --- despite the Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Jason Chaffetz admitting that Planned Parenthood has done nothing wrong.

Fourteen national polls have been released since the discredited CMP videos were released. They show an overwhelming majority of Americans still supporting Planned Parenthood.
