Washington D.C. — Today, Jenny Lawson, executive director of Planned Parenthood Votes, released the following statement after presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s speech on abortion rights:

“The American people are tired of politicians bending over backward to hide their extreme anti-abortion agenda. Nikki Haley can try to spin her way out of explaining why she signed an abortion ban with no exceptions for victims of rape or incest as governor of South Carolina. She can try to lie about supporting a bill that would criminalize providers. She can keep playing politics. But for millions of Americans, this isn’t a game. Our rights and freedoms are on the line. We’ve found ‘consensus’ — and it’s supporting access to legal abortion. Nikki Haley is simply on the wrong side of voters.”
