Washington, DC --- Today, Carly Fiorina will join Ohio Right to Life for a “tele-town hall,” that promises participants will hear the candidate’s “bold stance.” However, if it’s anything like Fiorina’s past appearances, the candidate will instead completely disregard the truth, and continue to flat out lie about Planned Parenthood and women’s health.

What are the questions we expect Carly Fiorina to refuse to answer?

QUESTION: Why do you think women should pay $1.4 billion more each year for birth control?

FACT: Carly Fiorina opposes the Affordable Care Act, and its no-copay birth control provision --- going so far as to say about the latter, “We are not waging a war on women simply because we believe there is no good reason for birth control to be free." [Bustle, 5/4/15]  Yet, a recent study published in Health Affairs found that the Affordable Care Act saved women roughly $1.4 billion a year on birth control pills alone — showing the clear economic impact that access to no-copay birth control has had on women’s lives.

QUESTION: Why do you think it’s okay for insurance companies to charge women more for health care?

FACT: The Affordable Care Act includes a provision that prevents insurance companies from using what’s called a “gender rating” to charge women higher premiums than men for the same benefits.  Before this provision went into effect in 2014, women paid an estimated $1 billion more than men for the same health care plans. Yet Carly Fiorina wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act, including this provision --- with no plan for instituting equitable protections to prevent women from being charged more for their insurance plans simply because they’re women.

QUESTION: Why do you want to prevent low-income Americans from accessing basic reproductive care, like STD testing and lifesaving cancer screenings?

FACT: Fiorina wants to block the millions of patients who rely on federal programs --- such as Medicaid and Title X --- from turning to Planned Parenthood for basic reproductive health care.  According to the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Public Health Association, the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, the National Hispanic Medical Association, the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and 12 other health care provider associations “Policies that would deny Planned Parenthood public health funds only serve to cut millions off from critical preventive care.”

QUESTION: Why don’t you believe we should have paid maternity leave in the United States?

FACT: Carly Fiorina opposes requiring companies in the U.S. to provide paid maternity leave --- putting her policy at odds with developed nations across the world. The U.S. isthe only developed nation without paid maternity leave.

QUESTION: Why do you want to overturn Roe v. Wade and ban abortion in the U.S.?

FACT: Carly Fiorina wants to roll back women’s health, ban safe, legal abortion and, overturnRoe v. Wade.  The American publicdoes not agree with her.

QUESTION: Why do you keep lying about Planned Parenthood?

FACT: Carly Fiorina made false claims about Planned Parenthood during the second GOP debate, which fact-checkers immediately called out as an outright lie. As MSNBC said,“The fact-checkers examined Fiorina’s claim and concluded that it’s the opposite of reality.” Yet, instead of admitting she was wrong or apologizing, Fiorina has doubled down, repeating the lie over and over. As CNN put it, “Even after fact-checkers concluded the video footage Fiorina described did not exist, she doubled down on her claims in the days following the debate.”
