Senate Republicans Leaders Try to Shut Down Third Branch of Government

For Immediate Release: March 14, 2016


Washington, DC --  Senate Republican leadership today,confirmed Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, stated in no uncertain terms they intend to shirk their constitutional duty by outright refusing to hold a hearing on an eventual Supreme Court nominee.

The announcement comes before the president has even nominated a potential justice, preemptively declaring that the Senate will obstruct all nomination processes.

“Senate Republican leaders are trying to shut down an entire branch of government. It’s crystal clear they are trying to advance an unpopular and extreme agenda by willfully failing to do their job and avoiding a nomination hearing all together."

“By the end of the year, their anti-Constitution efforts will come out in the wash when the country rejects this backward obstructionist agenda."
