One of More than 200 Volunteer-Led Events Across the Country as Millions of Supporters Fight Back Against Attacks on Planned Parenthood and Reproductive Health Care

WASHINGTON, DC – Tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET Representatives Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), and other Members of Congress will join Planned Parenthood leaders, patients, and allies at a press conference to deliver petitions with more than 2 million signatures from people from across the country urging Congress not to defund Planned Parenthood.  As some extreme politicians in Congress continue their attack on women’s health care and seek to block Planned Parenthood from serving patients who rely on publicly funded programs for health care, the press conference will highlight the need for the quality reproductive health care Planned Parenthood has provided for nearly a century.

Tomorrow’s press conference is one of more than 200 volunteer-led events across the country, held by patients and supporters to rally around Planned Parenthood and show the importance the health care nonprofit has played in their lives. Dubbed “National Pink Out Day,” the events range from people’s hearings, to sex-ed teach-ins, to free STD testing, to rallies --- all in response to efforts by extreme politicians in Congress to block Planned Parenthood health centers from receiving critical federal funding and cut millions off from essential reproductive health care.
