HITTING THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL: PLANNED PARENTHOOD PRESIDENT HITS THE ROAD AHEAD OF THE MIDTERMS TO SUPPORT REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS CHAMPIONS
As the midterm election nears, Planned Parenthood Action Fund President Alexis McGill Johnson will join reproductive rights champions on the campaign trail over the coming weeks. This announcement comes after a stop in Pennsylvania earlier this month to support Senate candidate John Fetterman. This weekend, Alexis will travel to Georgia, followed by stops in Wisconsin, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, and elsewhere. Ahead of the trip, McGill Johnson said:
“When politicians in Congress proposed a nationwide abortion ban, they reminded us of exactly what they’re focused on: stripping their own constituents of the ability to make decisions about their bodies and lives. We know voters won’t stand for that, and this November, they’ll turn out for reproductive health champions because abortion rights and freedoms are on the ballot. That’s why I’ll be traveling to states across the country to remind voters of exactly what the fight ahead looks like — and the urgency of electing candidates that support and will protect abortion rights. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is channeling this momentum and advocating for abortion access up and down the ballot.”

PLANNED PARENTHOOD VOTES RESPONDS TO HOUSE REPUBLICANS’ “COMMITMENT TO AMERICA”: This morning, House Republicans released their new “Commitment to America” policy plan — a statement that includes a pledge that Republicans will “protect the lives of the unborn” should they retake the majority in Congress. Planned Parenthood Votes Executive Director Jenny Lawson responded to the plan:
“Congressional Republicans have made their commitment to America crystal clear: pass a nationwide abortion ban. That’s why voters are committing to kicking anti-abortion politicians out of office and electing reproductive health care champions who will unapologetically protect and advocate for safe, legal abortion."
