From day one, the Trump-Pence administration has attacked our health, our rights, and our freedoms. The public doesn’t support its extreme agenda, but that hasn’t stopped the administration. Anything they’ve been unable to undermine in Congress, they’ve attacked through executive orders, regulations, and agency changes — without our consent.
Here are just a few ways the Trump-Pence administration has worked against women and families:
-
Issued a rule to allow employers to deny birth control coverage to their employees
-
Undermined the nation’s program for affordable birth control and reproductive health care
-
Tried to block people from getting care at Planned Parenthood (multiple times!)
-
Cut funding for teen pregnancy prevention programs
-
Took away protections for sexual assault survivors on campus
-
Promoted abstinence-only programs
-
Appointed officials who don’t believe women should use birth control to oversee the nation’s reproductive health program.
-
Repeatedly blocked young, immigrant women from exercising their right to safe, legal abortion — even after courts ordered them to stop
-
Just weeks ago, the Trump-Pence administration used the government office designed to protect against discrimination in order to give providers license to discriminate. They are pushing an ideological agenda to allow individuals to impose their personal religious views on others.
We have fought together over the last 14 months to beat back scores of these attacks. Now, it’s time to hold politicians accountable and elect leaders who will fight with us for the world we want.
We’re going ALL IN to take our power back
Everything we’ve done together over the past year to organize, speak out, and take action has prepared us for this next fight. It’s up to us to take power from those who are intent on dividing our communities and taking away our health, our safety, and our rights. Together with Planned Parenthood advocacy organizations across the country, we’re running the largest midterm election campaign in our history and building an unstoppable force to shift the balance of power by electing leaders who will fight for us. If you don’t stand with us on access to safe and legal abortion, affordable birth control, care at Planned Parenthood, health care equity, immigrant rights to health care, or the fight against sexual violence, then you don’t deserve to represent us.
March. Vote. Win. is about making sure everyone gets the health care they need without politicians controlling when, how, or why. It’s about uniting for full equality for ALL people, and working for everyone’s right to control their body and their own life’s path.
Winning differently
To win, each of us is going to have to step up in new ways, and push ourselves to do more than we have before to organize ourselves and our communities for victory. Tell us how YOU’LL commit to showing up this year, whether it’s volunteering more time, donating more to candidates who will fight for you, or speaking out in ways you never have before.
Take the Pledge
