Don’t know much about Obamacare? Well, you're not alone. According to two recent polls, many Americans don’t understand how the new health care law works — even when they stand to benefit.

A new Wall Street Journal/NBC Poll found that 76 percent of the uninsured (those most likely to benefit from the health care law) don’t understand how the law will benefit them and their families. So it hardly comes as a surprise to learn that in addition, most Americans aren’t sure what’s in the law. Only about half of respondents to a USA TODAY/Pew Research Center poll knew whether lower-income residents would be eligible for federal subsidies to purchase health insurance, and whether a health insurance exchange was available in their state (they are!)

It’s not surprising to see these results. Opponents of Obamacare continue to spread misleading information, in an effort to derail it. They don’t want the public to know that Obamacare has already benefited more than 20 million women with private insurance, that 3.1 million young people have been able to stay on their parents’ insurance up until the age of 26 — not having to worry if they lose their job or get sick, or that lifetime limits on your coverage are a thing of the past.

The truth (good for Americans, bad for opponents) is that when the law goes more fully into effect next year, it will be the biggest step forward for women's health in a generation. How well do you know the law? Ready to learn more? Take our quiz, and test your knowledge. Every correct answer will generate a 10 cent donation to Planned Parenthood Federation of America — to ensure Obamacare continues working for women and that women can get the basic health care they need.
