Ohio Agrees Medicaid Expansion is Too Good to Pass Up

Great news in Ohio: Governor John Kasich is the 25th governor to make the decision to expand Medicaid in his state—making coverage available to an additional 275,000 low-income Ohioans who need it. Better yet, Governor Kasich is the latest of several Republican governors who have decided to do what's best for their constituents, rather than toe a political party line.
Medicaid is good for women and families, and the decision to expand—with the federal government financing almost all of the costs of covering newly eligible individuals under Obamacare—should be a no-brainer. If all states accept this money, an additional 7 million women will be able to get critical women’s health care, such as: birth control, checkups, well-woman exams, and prenatal care at no cost. Accepting these funds means that a state can cover more hardworking individuals and families. Plus, they’ll be saving taxpayers’ dollars that are currently spent to treat uninsured individuals.
There’s a reason some have said Medicaid expansion is “too good to pass up” and we’re happy Ohio agreed.
