Missouri Governor Vetoes Bill That Would Have Tripled Waiting Period for an Abortion
On July 2, 2014, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon vetoed a dangerous bill that would have required women seeking a safe, legal abortion to wait at least 72 hours before getting the procedure. The three-day period was three times as long as the state’s existing mandatory waiting period of 24 hours.

Missouri State Rep. Wieland Needs to Reconsider His Priorities
Missouri State Representative Paul Wieland (R-Imperial) recently filed a federal lawsuit suit asking the court to declare the mandate for contraception coverage in Obamacare unconstitutional. More specifically, he’s looking for a personal exemption for his family (the fact that Wieland is a man, who would probably find little use for birth control, is apparently beside the point).
