I am a constituent and a supporter of Planned Parenthood Action Fund. I’m calling to thank my representative for supporting spending bills clean of the racist Hyde Amendment and other harmful abortion coverage bans! Your ZIP code, income, or the type of health insurance you have should never determine what kind of essential health care services you can access. 

I’m so grateful to also see that these spending bills seek to end the global gag rule for good and would increase funding for Title X, the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, and global reproductive health programs — a testament to your leadership and dedication to expanding sexual and reproductive health care and advancing health equity.

In July, the House passed several spending bills without any harmful abortion coverage or access restrictions. The historic spending bills — if enacted into law — would eliminate the Hyde Amendment, the Weldon Amendment, Helms Amendment, and all other abortion coverage bans, and permanently repeal the global gag rule. The packages also make critical investments in access to sexual and reproductive health care with increased funding for Title X, the nation’s only federal program dedicated to providing affordable birth control, and additional support for the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program and global reproductive health programs.
