It's time to move beyond division and disrespect — and move forward together. Vote YES on Mindy O'Neall for Fairbanks Mayor by October 7!

Vote YES on Mindy O'Neall
Fairbanks Mayor

Mindy O’Neall embodies the best of Alaska’s values: resilience, fairness, and respect for every neighbor. O’Neall believes leadership means protecting the freedom of every person to thrive without political interference in personal health care decisions. Her commitment is clear — a Fairbanks where everyone can live with respect and dignity.

GET THE FACTS

O’Neall has a proven track record of working across sectors and communities to get things done.
  • As executive director of the Cold Climate Housing Research Center, O’Neall brought together military leaders, realtors, nonprofit staff, and more to create affordable, energy-efficient housing development. In this role, O’Neall demonstrated pragmatic leadership, a collaborative spirit, and deep respect for our environment.
  • As a Fairbanks assembly member, O’Neall has shown she has the experience necessary to balance budgets while moving the city forward, demonstrating she can lead with both fiscal responsibility and a clear vision for the future.
O’Neall is a leader who ensures every voice is included when guiding Fairbanks forward.
  • For over 15 years, O’Neall has built strong partnerships with communities across Fairbanks and fought up for Alaska’s LGBTQ2S+ communities — including proudly showing up during Pride.
  • O’Neall has publicly committed to respecting Alaska Native communities and ensuring they are treated with the honor and dignity they deserve.
O'Neall pledges to stand firmly for reproductive freedom and equitable access to care as mayor.

As mayor, O'Neall is committed to using her platform and partnerships to:

  • Advocate for science-based sex education and reproductive health literacy in our communities, wherever possible.
  • Defend Fairbanks as a welcoming city that respects the rights of all residents, including their right to access abortion care and other essential health care services.
  • Collaborate with local providers, educators, and public health officials to remove barriers to health care access, especially for youth, families with lower incomes, and rural residents.

Fairbanks deserves leaders who respect every resident, regardless of who they are and where they come from.

Instead, Incumbent David Pruhs has made it clear that he will put ideology and special interests ahead of the health, safety, and dignity of our neighbors.

Vote NO on David Pruhs
Fairbanks Mayor

David Pruhs has doubled down on beliefs that are out of touch with Fairbanks’ values. Instead of building a Fairbanks where everyone can thrive, Pruhs has repeatedly used his position to strip away rights and divide our community at a time when we need unity the most.

GET THE FACTS

Pruhs has a record of voting against equality.
  • Pruhs voted AGAINST a nondiscrimination ordinance that would have extended protections to the LGBTQ2S+ community.
  • Pruhs CELEBRATED when the former mayor VETOED the nondiscrimination ordinance.
Pruhs opposes public funding for abortion, despite Alaskans’ constitutional right to access care.
  • While running for the Alaska House of Representatives, Pruhs stated in an interview that he would not support legislation that allows the state to pay for abortion care.
  • In a 2022 Fairbanks voters’ guide, Pruhs said he agreed with the following statement: “The city should adopt a policy to ensure that no public funds are used to pay for abortions or to subsidize groups that perform or promote abortion.”
Pruhs disrespects Fairbanks's diverse communities.
  • Pruhs made disparaging comments online targeting rural Alaskans and Alaska Native communities, leaning on harmful stereotypes. Only after community members and Indigenous-led organizations demanded accountability did Pruhs issue a half-hearted apology.
  • In his official capacity, Pruhs insulted and dismissed the very real harm and discrimination experienced by LGBTQ2S+ community members.

Remember to vote by October 7!

Vote NO on David Pruhs for Fairbanks Mayor and vote YES for Mindy O’Neall, a leader who will move Fairbanks forward with respect, fairness, and unity.
