Priority Legislation

Our team follows many bills during legislative session. These are the ones we need your help with! Learn about each bill and get involved below.

HB 1407: Restricting access to gender affirming care for youth

This bill is an anti-LGBTQ+ attack. It prevents judicial interference if a parent refuses to assist their child in receiving gender affirming care.

HB 1568: Pharmacists prescribing birth control

This bill would allow pharmacists to prescribe some kinds of hormonal contraceptives. Unfortunately, language was added that would stigmatize and exceptionalize emergency contraception by implying it causes an abortion. It would also prevent pharmacists from prescribing abortion pills, a politically motivated attack on the FDA’s move to expand access to medication abortion drugs in pharmacies.

We can no longer support this legislation

SB 266: Administering birth control in hospitals postpartum

This bill would allow for individuals to receive long-acting reversible contraceptives to be distributed in hospital post-labor.

SB 480: Banning gender affirming care for youth

This is a bill that prevents a physician from performing gender affirming procedures on anyone under 18.
