On November 5, we decide.

Hawaiʻi has always been ahead of the times in supporting reproductive freedom and LGBTQ+ rights. Let's elect Corey Rosenlee (D) to keep House District 39 moving forward.

Corey Rosenlee (D)
39th House District

Corey Rosenlee (D) is committed to protecting and advancing access to reproductive health care, including abortion, and sex education across all the islands. We know, once elected, Rosenlee will fight to ensure the voices of those most impacted by health care policies are at the forefront.

GET THE FACTS

Rosenlee has a history of creating safe and inclusive spaces for all.

As an educator, Rosenlee knows how important it is to create safe and inclusive spaces for ALL students. With continued attacks on the LGBTQ+ community, this mindset and approach will serve him and all community members well in the state legislature.

Rosenlee is a proven leader committed to progressive policies.

After six years as President of the Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association and a strong history of advocating for increased education funding in the state legislature, Rosenlee has the leadership experience needed to effectively advance impactful and progressive policies.

Rosenlee believes in equitable access to health care.

Rosenlee recognizes that everyone — elders, children, and everyone in between — deserves access to essential health care without the burden of cost. We’re confident he will be a strong advocate for increasing health care funding once elected to the Hawaiʻi legislature.

Elijah Pierick (R)
39th House District

Ending Roe v. Wade was just a warm-up lap for politicians who oppose abortion. Their goal has always been to fully take away control of our bodies and medical freedom — but we won’t let them.

Elijah Pierick’s (R) extremist views have clouded his ability to serve the people of Hawaiʻi. In office, Pierick has repeatedly pushed anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, despite the state’s long history of supportive and inclusive values.

GET THE FACTS

Pierick has imposed his personal beliefs onto public service.

In 2023, Pierick attempted to instigate the community, calling on them to contact (disturb) a local principal for flying a Pride flag outside her office. This was an unnecessary attack on a school official for simply trying to create a safe and inclusive space for ALL students, and stands in opposition to the state’s cultural values and beliefs.

Pierick's actions drew criticism from fellow elected officials, the Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association, and the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement. This resulted in the revocation of his invitation to participate in the Prince Kūhiō Parade in Kapolei.

Pierick has a consistently anti-abortion voting record.

Pierick has consistently voted against protecting abortion care in Hawai‘i, running counter to the state’s legacy of being the first in the nation to protect a person’s right to abortion care:

  • 2024 legislative session: Pierick voted NO on a resolution aimed at protecting access to medication abortion.
  • 2023 legislative session: Pierick voted NO on the abortion omnibus bill, which safeguarded legal abortion care against those seeking to criminalize both patients seeking abortion care and abortion care providers.
  • 2023 legislative session: Pierick voted NO on the Reproductive Health Equity Act resolution, a necessary first step toward requiring insurance coverage of sexual and reproductive health care at no cost — including abortion care.
Pierick doesn’t trust his constituents to make medical decisions for themselves.

In his short time in office, Pierick has made it clear that he does not believe in the freedom for people to make the best medical decisions for themselves, in consultation with their providers:

  • 2024 legislative session: Pierick voted NO to allow minors to consent to PrEP/PEP.
  • 2024 legislative session: Pierick voted NO on a resolution to study the implementation of consistent sexual health education policies and standards across the state.
  • 2024 legislative session: Pierick voted NO on a bill that would have protected gender-affirming care providers against prosecution and attempts at criminalization from other states where gender-affirming care has been attacked. He also voted against expanding access to gender-affirming care in the state.

Remember to vote by November 5!

Voting YES on Rosenlee and NO on Pierick is a vote to support and protect the people of Hawaiʻi and Hawaiian values.
