Planned Parenthood Endorses Cassie Chambers Armstrong for Senate District 19

Frankfort, KY — Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates Kentucky (PPAA-KY) is proud to endorse Cassie Chambers Armstrong in the special election for Senate District 19. Chambers Armstrong has a demonstrated history advocating for reproductive health policies that uplift the lives of Kentuckians. PPAA-KY previously endorsed Chambers Armstrong for her current elected position as Louisville Metro Councilwoman for the eighth district, where she led the passage of the Safety Zone Ordinance. Chambers Armstrong is committed to supporting reproductive health care, including access to abortion, birth control, and sex education.

Cassie is a lifelong Kentuckian who has risen out of poverty conditions because of a supportive community and knows first hand the benefits that come from a government that fights for its people. Access to care has never been more vital. Since the reversal of Roe, one in three women of reproductive age in the U.S. – and even more trans and nonbinary people who can become pregnant – no longer have access to abortion in their state: including Kentucky, where more than a million people of reproductive age must cross state lines to access basic health care. 

Abortion is essential health care. While we wait on the Kentucky Supreme Court to rule on the state’s abortion ban, Planned Parenthood will keep fighting alongside leaders like Chambers Armstrong, until we realize a world where everyone is in control of their reproductive health, lives, and futures. 

Through Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates’s endorsement process, the organization finds, educates, endorses, and supports candidates who will stand with Planned Parenthood, patients, and communities across Kentucky to work in pursuit of sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice for all people.
