JUNEAU, AK — Statement from Jessica Cler, Public Affairs Manager:
“Following Senator Lisa Murkowski’s (R-AK) annual address to the Alaska State Legislature, Planned Parenthood commends the senator for her bold leadership and strong support for Planned Parenthood. Senator Murkowski said she, “won’t vote to deny Alaskans care at Planned Parenthood.”
“The road ahead is long and Congress will continue its efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act and defund the patients who depend on getting their care at Planned Parenthood. However today, Senator Murkowski made a clear statement of support that shows she will stand with Alaska women and Planned Parenthood to protect access to reproductive health care. With so much uncertainty in politics today, Alaskans can breathe a little easier knowing that Senator Murkowski said she will protect their access to the critical health care services Planned Parenthood provides.”
