Trump Cannot ‘Flip It and Reverse It’ When It Comes to His Anti-Abortion Record

WASHINGTON, DC - Media, please, pick up your phone, we’re on the request line: Donald Trump cannot “flip it and reverse it” when it comes to his record on abortion. He knows he cannot win on abortion and now he’s all “if it’s worth it, let me work it.”

We are currently living the consequences of a Trump presidency. His record on sexual and reproductive health is nothing short of disastrous. Trump might think he can lie to voters about his record, but it is firmly cemented in history. Here are some of the highlights: 

  • Trump stacked the federal courts with  judges whose hostility to reproductive health was longstanding, including three Supreme Court justices who helped overturn Roe.
  • Trump and his administration repeatedly backed a national abortion ban.
  • Trump manipulated the COVID-19 pandemic to restrict access to medication abortion and laid the foundation for the current legal battle.
  • Trump consistently leveraged his administration to undermine access to birth control.

Bottom line: Watch what he does, not what he says. We know voters will turn out at the ballot box to protect reproductive freedom – they have done so at every opportunity since Roe was overturned. Donald Trump is a disaster for American democracy and a massive disaster for abortion access. He must be held accountable.
